(NBC Sports Philadelphie) « Personnellement, je pense que nous nous en sortons. » Trea Turner croit que peu importe qui se trouvait sur le monticule adverse, les Phillies avaient simplement des difficultés au marbre.

In the 9th inning, I saw Harper clutching his bat in the dugout with his eyes fixed on Diaz, anxious to get up to bat. I can only imagine how different this series would’ve been if all the Phils had that « let me at ’em » attitude.

Schwarber opened the series with a home run.

no plate discipline and a bad bullpen. not exactly shocking.

A standing ovation was supposed to fix everything though.

The entire league figured out you can beat the Phillies by just not throwing strikes.

Phillies were a .500 team for the 2nd half. Even the Yankees and Guardians who « coasted » at times were able to put together strings of wins.
Phillies lost because they were the worse team. Also, wondering if they regret trading some pen guys to Baltimore considering their bullpen absolutely imploded

Imagine thinking that the team that beat you 3-1 had nothing to do with you losing. This series wasnt even particularly close outside of g2 where the mets bullpen imploded.

The Braves became the Mets.
The Mets became the Phillies.
The Phillies became the Braves.
Thanks, I hate it.

A five game series in baseball is a coin flip.

Mets pitching is trash, but the Phillies bats are trashier. Every one of them is thinking HR every at bat. It has been a problem for the last few years and it always catches up to them. The worse they play, the more focused they are on hitting a homer every pitch. It’s infuriating. I watched almost every game this year and it never changed. They live or die by the HR, and they died. They are all jumping around having a great « family » time after every game, but every AB is selfish time. Get some hits, get some walks, score some runs. They are consistently beat by mid teams that take that approach. Can’t blame the bullpen for imploding. It has to be frustrating when you know no matter how good your stuff is, you aren’t going to get run support.
Mets won because they have a team oriented focus that the Phillies just haven’t learned yet.

Trea Turner’s approach:
“It’s definitely a fastball this time – oh shit!”
