I like a Manfred idea?
When the dumbest guy you know has a good idea…
14 is an odd choice of number.
Just saying, the Reds are also getting dropped by Diamond Sports…
In an ideal world, every MLB team would have paid streaming service w/o blackouts for cord-cutters/non-TV viewers + free local OTA broadcasts also carried on cable/satellite packages regionally for bars/restaurants/old people/casual fans who don’t want to pay an additional $20 a month.
What would this package look like? All of your in-market teams plus every other game? No blackouts?
Come on, Mariners, just give up on Root sports already
The current situation is such a joke. I live in the blackout zone of the Padres and the Diamondbacks, which means that the last couple years I haven’t been able to watch any games involving either team on MLB (dot) tv without paying for a separate one-team package despite the facts that: 1. I have an MLB (dot) tv subscription and 2. neither teams’ broadcasts can be seen anywhere BUT MLB (dot) tv.
Not sure where he’s gonna get those 14 from unless DSG goes under and they get all of the Bally teams, or if NBC drops the Athletics, or if teams like the Mariners and O’s/Nationals give up on Root Sports/MASN.
