That’s like an Onion headline at this point.

  2. Gotta pay for Kris Bryant’s contract somehow.

This is a nothing burger, I almost guarantee the Monforts will pay him. He was pulled because he got a hit and they wanted him to end his career on a high note with a hit and not something like striking out. If he didn’t get a hit I guarantee he isn’t pulled

Say what you will about how idiotic Monfort is, but he does pay players money, he just does it in idiotic ways. We aren’t Bob Nutting refusing to pay people.

Edit: Turns out the plan was 2 PAs the whole time and Blackmon was going to be pulled regardless. It’s still a nothing burger and Blackmon is the one who wanted that reportedly. No idea if he’ll actually get the bonus, but it would shock me if he didn’t.

They pulled him so his last AB was a hit and they’ll give him the money anyway.

Jeez, look into it for 5 seconds before posting about it.

Yeah I don’t think this is one of those situations

He’s been a star and made a bunch of money so he isn’t some guy who was marginal and really could’ve used the money

And he was retiring so that moment of walking off to the ovation after getting one last hit and him looking around and taking it all in one last time was worth way more than the money
