The Yankees cannot both tell their fans they’re a serious World Series contender and also continue to pitch Clay Holmes in high leverage situations. They have to pick one. Absolutely inexplicable that they continue to let him pitch in these spots.

Justin Turner is literally the oldest position player in mlb. He puts up good ABs, and can be replied upon for singles, walks, and the occasional double, but he doesn’t have much power.

Its kinda interesting because with a small handful of exceptions like that grandslam a few weeks ago, I feel like whats allowed Holmes’s ERA to stay at such a reasonable number (3.36 at the time of writing this) is that his blown saves are almost always him exactly tying the game rather then losing it outright.
