Avec leur défaite en 13e manche face aux Angels, les White Sox ont perdu leur 117e match. Ils doivent terminer avec un bilan de 3-6 ou mieux pour éviter le pire pourcentage de victoires de l’ère moderne.

Keep going!!! Call up minor league prospects. We want history.

We had to work *hard* to secure that one. Blew two saves (to reach 35, against 36 wins), would’ve blown a third if we’d had a different pitcher when we gave up the third run.

At 36-117, we have now equaled the full-season record of the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics who of course only played 153 games. No matter whether we win or lose our next game, we will end it with the worst 154-game record any team has ever had, trailing the 2003 Tigers and 1962 Mets who were both 38-116 at that point in their respective seasons.

    The full history watch update:

7-2: Required to avoid 120 losses (we have not had a 7-2 stretch all season)

6-3: Required to match 120 losses but not break the modern-era loss record (last went 6-3 from May 8-May 17)

5-4: Required in order to exceed the 1962 Mets’ win percentage (last went 5-4 from June 27-July 5)

4-5: Required in order to reach 40 wins (last went 4-5 from September 7-September 16)

3-6: Required in order to avoid the worst win percentage in the modern era (have gone 3-6 in our last 9 games)

  4. The worst part of all this losing is that it effectively checks me out of the sport *entirely*…and that is a real shame…ugh…
