I’ve been missing watching Mike Trout play, so I decided to create a graph of all MLB HOF batters (+ Trout), and compare their number of games to their fWAR. All of the players that seem to be outliers are denoted by the red data points.
Even among elite company, Trout is a statistical phenom. Baseball needs him back.

The only players in history with fewer PAs than Trout, who have at least 2/3 of Trout’s career bWAR, are Mookie Betts, Jackie Robinson, and Joe Jackson. Just to put into perspective how mercurial Trout was.

It’s almost sad to see a historically great career maybe never include a single playoff victory (and only one playoff series)
kinda off the topic. Holy crap Rogers Hornsby was good. Underrated by a mile
