Am I the only one who got Catcher vibes from the name Bert Campeneris and never bothered to realize I’ve been wrong the whole time

Seeing Trammels name anywhere just reminds me how much Whitaker deserves the HOF

So there are three shortstops with a higher JAWs that are not in the Hall. Two guys who played in the 1800’s and A-Rod.
With any sort of a normal aging curve, Lindor’s Hall of Fame case should be obvious.

Jesus Christ, yet *another* fucking statistic?

I’ve been beating this drum since he was in Cleveland. He has an excellent shot at the all-time record for homers by a shortstop, combined with elite defense.

Its always wild to look at Jim Fregosi’s numbers. He had about 43 bWAR through age 28, then promptly hit the wall harder than Dale Earnhardt. Nomar Garciaparra was an All-Star with LA, but otherwise its the same story with him. Both were about where Carlos Correa is today, as far as age and WAR.

Lindor moving up this far on the list is a great reminder that there’s a number of players who have been on the hall of fame trajectory but have continued it with great years into their early -mid 30s. Among them not only Lindor but Judge, Ramirez, Altuve, Freeman, Harper, Sale, Machado.
Many could have fallen off but all have either been healthy and good-great or wildly effective while healthy. Huge positive seasons in Hof credentials for Lindor, judge, sale and Ramirez in particular.
