Shortly before this, they had to do a rules check because one of the 5 infielders was standing directly up the middle, and nobody was sure of the shift limitations on such a play.
Luckily enough, that was where the ball ended up being hit.

Only the Jays wouldn’t have one of the infielders playing as close to second as legally possible given the shift rules. No clue why Davis Schneider is so far away from the base
