So the twins still haven’t done anything?
Imma be honest I know nobody on the As outside of Rooker lol
Edit- after checking Fangraphs, looks like a contact based ground ball pitcher. Interesting. Don’t expect the prospect cost will be too high given he profiles as a 4 or 5 starter innings eater
Blackburn is that movie where Barry Keoghan drinks the tub water right
No more 90 pitch 4 inning Tylor Megill starts 🙏🏽
Paul Blackburn has pitched every season since 2017 and is only starting arbitration in 2025.
Oakland « OOPS No More Pitchers » Athletics
I’ll take it
Nice move.
Blackburn is a solid get. Nothing special, but as a back of the rotation innings eater he’s excelling at that
good but doesn’t move the needle.
Dude with a 4.41 ERA and 4.86 xERA to go along with terrible peripherals
Stearns is COOKING (crack)
[checks stats]
yeah sure he exists
Longest tenured A I believe, so long Blackburn. Given the market we deserve a haul with his control.
Got him confused with Nick Blackburn for a moment
Took a while to get going, but they’re finally starting to pick the last bits of meat off the carcass. John Fisher should be tried at the Hauge for what he’s done to this team.
Worse than megill
For that just keep trotting out Megill
What a horrible move would rather just stay with Megil
Not an upgrade but also not a downgrade. Senga and Scott are out and need serviceable arms that can give you just enough to not tax the bullpen. I imagine Butto will get a nod to join the rotation soon and Blackburn will be the bulk guy
Eating innings? More like wasting innings.
He’s a solid backend guy from the As. Hes been roughly a league average pitcher with them and is probably better than Megill. At this version.
He has solid stuff and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Mets pitching development can take him from being a 4.40 ERA to a 3.90 ERA pitcher.
Especially since he’s a ground ball pitcher and the Mets have a far better infield defense.
He is a guy who can regularly give quality starts and is under control next year. And he doesn’t walk a ton of guys
This is… so underwhelming. 1:45 to go, David. Pick it up.
