That’s not a funky hop. He needs to know that a pop up off the end of the bat from a righty is going to have a ton of side spin and kick that direction when it hits the ground. The angle he took was poor, and the ball kicked passed him. It’s the subtleties of baseball that I love and appreciate, even when they go against my team.

And then he just made a catch on the run for the 3rd out of the 9th. Baseball!

RF has to slow down and keep the ball in front. A ball off the end of the bat to right is gonna have that weird spin. Could have slowed up, kept ball in front, and had plenty of time to make a throw to home.
