(The Athletic) Dave Stewart est en pourparlers actifs pour acheter les White Sox, il a été intimement impliqué dans la tentative d’amener une équipe d’expansion à Nashville.
I know they’re the 2nd team in the city, but I just find it hard to believe there’s more opportunity to make money in Nashville over Chicago
Could be wrong, but if you can just be competent I feel like staying would be better

MLB is not going to move the White Sox to Nashville. Once Oakland/Sacramento/Las Vegas is settled and the Rays are in their new stadium, I think we see expansion before relocation regarding Nashville.

Intimately, eh?

This team has been flirting with relocation during its entire existence, they ain’t going nowhere.

Plot twist, the White Sox are moving to Oakland

Moving the white sox makes zero sense. For as fucked as the A’s were, they were ultimately somewhat of a transient franchise, and if this move had happened a few decades ago it would have felt in keeping with how the franchise had acted in the past. Moving a team that’s been in one place for nearly 125 years would be ridiculous, especially when expansion seems inevitable.

yeah I’d be worried if I were a white sox fan…
fuck the team, but the real story to hone in on is the ownership saga

Just don’t let him be GM….

If he runs the White Sox anything like he ran the Dbacks it might somehow be a downgrade from Jerry

I knew Nashville would come up right away in this

It’s actually over. Crazy that a team which existed since the inception of organized baseball will have its history wiped away. I know the threats to move to Tampa back in the day was seen as a bluff but this feels different. No chance I’ll be a fan of the team if they move or turn into a Cubs fun. I’ll just be a neutral observer I guess. Maybe the Rockies or Twins will take me in.

Who’s going to pay for the stadium?

Speaking as someone in the Illinois politico scene, the vibes here are that this is another attempt by Reinsdorf to seek leverage for public funding to build a new White Sox ballpark in the South Loop. Needless to say, this news is not helping move the needle any.

Congrats Cubs on having Chicago all to yourself
