I for one would’ve preferred if he pitched more like Playoff Kershaw

  2. In terms of postseason, it is probably Koufax or maybe Orel Hershiser. But I guess both of those guys are ancient history at this point.

I would run through a god damnned wall for this dude

  4. He will get clowned for that statement but Kershaw’s postseason numbers just look like a good pitcher got BABIP’d to hell over the course of about a season.

He has really good peripherals last I checked and it’s really not as bad as you’d think IIRC

Game 1 of 2017 World Series. I was there and will never forget that Kershaw performance. The biggest stage, in the biggest Dodger game in 30 years and the dude shoved.

Kershaw was such a workhorse. In many occasions, he had to pitch on 3 days rest and/or came out of the bullpen to help the team. His 2017 postseason outings were great and that one horrific outing was at Minute Maid park. His narrative could’ve been so much different if he had his ring in 2017.

I really hope kershaw is taking his role as a veteran seriously right now, and im sure he is. But imagine being a young pitcher with a first ballot hall of gamer, the face of an era in baseball, Clayton kershaw being there to mentor you. Especially with all of his ups and downs in the post season in particular.

Short rest starts are something people don’t talk enough about Kershaw. I’m glad Flaherty brought it up. Besides one outing, which happened in a later inning while he was cruising to start, Kershaw was phenomenal on short rest starts. Seriously go look at his numbers.
