i’m throwing clubhouse chairs if I’m Wheeler

  2. Ok_Membership_9701

It was close and the Mets almost won but the Phillies get the win because “they got Edwin Diaz up”

  3. blentz499

This was a great win for the Mets and a win for the proponents of getting the robo umps here as fast as possible because that ump and officiating crew was dreadful.

  4. Kung_Fu_Jedi

This was massive. Guarantees at least 2 games at Citi Field now. Mets haven’t played a home game in 13 days. That will be 16 by Tuesday. The crowd is going to be absolutely insane.

  5. Insatiable_void

Imagine losing game 1 at home to a hated rival after running away with the division and getting a bye.

  6. ImaManCheetahh

teams gonna be fighting each other next year to NOT win the NL East

  7. UniqueNobo

the umpire scorecard will look like a modern art masterpiece

  8. ofcourseitslegal

What a waste of that start from Wheeler, goddamn

  9. jorleeduf

I think there’s something about getting the 6 seed in the NL

  10. Man I’m PISSED.

How THE FUCK do the Mets take a 6-2 lead and lose because Edwin Diaz was tossing in the bullpen.

    FUCK FUCK FUCK

  11. JagerMainOwO

Yeah the Phillies wasted an incredible Wheeler start but Diaz threw 10 warmup pitches so who really won this game?

  12. Phillies need to decide what timeline they wanna be in. From 2008-2015 they had probably the most perfect fall from grace ever.

    2008 won the World Series.
    2009 lost the World Series.
    2010 lost the NLCS.
    2011 lost the NLDS.
    2012 missed playoffs in third.
    2013 missed playoffs in fourth.
    2014 missed playoffs in last.
    2015 worst record in baseball.

This time around we skipped step one and are currently one game into step four.

    2022 lost the World Series.
    2023 lost the NLCS.
    2024 ???

Bullpen needs to step up and the bats need to stop always trying to get it all on one swing. Mets won with good rally hitting in the 8th by putting good contact on two strike counts.

  13. Goatlikejordan

Philly fans are garbage booing marte after that hbp

  14. Snuggle__Monster

This Mets team is pretty scary. They took an October gem right on the chin and shook it off like it was nothing. Then turn around the next inning and plate 5 men. Then completely smother a Bryce Harper led would be rally. It’s gonna take a lot to eliminate this squad.

  15. WhatsMyrAgeAgain1

That has got to be such an encouraging win for the Mets and absolutely deflating for the Phillies.

  16. myhellcatgotRepod

Guys don’t ever pull your starter against the Mets after 7 easy cruising innings for your two best bullpen arms, worst mistake of my life

  17. latterdaysasuke

The Mets prevented a late-inning Maton meltdown. They might never lose again.

I just hope Phils fans behave themselves and don’t send Bryson Stotts any death threats.

  18. DocsHandkerchief

The Bank sounds like a Sixers playoff game

  19. new_wellness_center

On one hand, I know I should wait to say this … On the other, I might not get another chance:

    # Layoff’s a bitch

  20. darthllama

Lol at all that ridiculous stuff from last year about how philly fans are so great and have an unbeatable home field advantage. Three straight home playoff losses!

  21. Sorry Phillies. Brewers all-time franchise record for losing to a World Series team/winner is claiming another casualty

  22. AmphibiousLizardman

You guys don’t understand, PHILLIES WON EDWIN DIAZ STOOD UP!

Ignore the score, Diaz has stood up, Phillies 1 Mets 0.

  23. The way the Mets have been playing should be deemed unconstitutional on account of cruel and unusual punishment.

Just sleeping for 7 innings, giving up at least a run, before waking up in the 8th or 9th with 4+ runs, ripping out the opposing team’s heart.

    Fucking amazin’ to watch.

  24. GareksApprentice

Zack Wheeler threw 111 pitches and shut out the Mets over 7 innings as the Phillies lose 6-1
