This is why bullpen only teams won’t work in the postseason. You can’t expect 7 different pitchers to all be on their A game in a single night
Vierling looked like he didn’t expect them to send the runner. I don’t know why he wouldn’t just treat the play like an auto-send and line himself up properly and fire it in. It’s a fast-moving play but you have to be mentally prepared to fire that in if you’re going to catch it.
Worst, most effortless throw to home I’ve ever seen. What was he doing? He literally just lobbed it in like he was playing catch warming up in the outfield, or throwing a foul ball back to the dugout. That was terrible.
