[MLB’s lawyer in court says this is the first MLB is hearing of this plan. « We have no information about what is being done, » Jim Bromley, lawyer for MLB, said. « We’ve had no opportunity to review and now we’re in front of the court and being asked to make our comments. »](https://x.com/evandrellich/status/1841499069916532946?s=46)

It speaks to the drawing power the Braves have as a regional brand. The current TV deal is up in 2027 and it is going to be fascinating to see what the Braves do with their TV rights.

Because we’re the only one that makes money.

    Our TV deal sucks.

  4. Fuck yes we are free. DeWitt give me direct to consumer and take my money please.

Ironic. The Braves used to be the only team anyone could watch, and now they’ll be the 1 team that’s the hardest to watch.

The put them on YouTube TV. I live in their market and I have MLB.TV and they’re the only team I cannot watch.

Congratulations to ESPN (which was the most common recent rumor, as ESPN will likely use an out-clause in their MLB contract, likely as a play to become the major player in local baseball while only having a relative few national rights for marquee events like opening day, the HR Derby, some playoffs, stuff they can synergize like the Williamsport game, etc.) or whoever the hell MLB partners up with to handle the local rights

  8. For those that don’t know, Bally and Comcast had a contract dispute this season. For months, you couldn’t watch the Braves in the Atlanta area on the Atlanta area’s most popular TV provider. They made a deal which saw the Braves move to the most expensive tier, up to $100 MORE PER MONTH.

And now another year of not getting to watch the Braves outside of weekend games on Apple, Fox, or ESPN.

    Fuck Bally

  9. The Barves have been eternally chained to the dying husk of cable…with cables!

I hope this mean I will stop looking at one of the worst scorebug I’ve ever seen. How is it that we are in 2024 but that shit looks uglier than something from 2002.

I know it is a little thing to complain about but that thing is ugly beyond belief

The growth of the sport was helped by the Braves being broadcast so easily. These new deals don’t allow for natural growth of the game to a new audience
