Left out his error “The former Yankees in the Soto trade lead the Padres to a 3-0 victory in Game 1 over Atlanta”. So much for Higgy’s homer
thanks yanks
Wow Bob, I never considered that
Soto has won 0 playoff games with the Yankees meanwhile the padres are undefeated in October. Really makes you think.
Depending on how much you care about control and WAR, the Padres actually won this trade pretty handily, although obviously Soto is the single best player in the deal. But just the one year of control when all the Padres pieces have multiple years (except Higgy)
Dare I say it was a win-win?
It doesn’t hurt when the umps strike zone goes from dugout to dugout and grass to the top of the net
One of the few trades that both teams won.
Truly a great game for starter Michael King and catcher Kyle Higashioka. I totally didn’t just remember those guys exist.
Win win
Both Soto trades have worked very well. Soto alone pretty much bought the Nats a future, now he’s helping the Padres compete
Bruh the Braves offense is one of the worst I’ve seen.
What kind of haul would Ohtani have gotten?
Also pretty infuriating for Angels fans that Perry Minasian didn’t trade Ohtani then didn’t offer him a contract in free agency.
Based on their regular season records, Soto is worth exactly one win more than a non-Soto team.
