This is exactly how I expected him to play after getting the dreaded 50/50 out of the way. Just Ohtani putting the ball in play, one of the best in the league, at doing that if he wants to. Ohtani Singles are what I like to see. It’s so satisfying seeing him be a contact guy while also knowing he can blast one 400 ft at any point.
So has Ohtani cracked the 400 bases mark with this game?
And he looks like a 6’4” 240 lb child having the time of his life

Absolutely ridiculous. Seeing how he’s somehow managed to raise the level of his game in this stretch is incredible. Playoff Ohtani may be just the thing this team needed.
With Arraez going 0-12 this series and Ozuna keeping around the 0.310 mark, Ohtani right now with how hot he is has a legitimate shot at the triple crown.
Unless something very strange happens in the 9th, we’re going to have with 3 games remaining:
Arraez at 0.312 hitting 8-42 (0.190) in his last 10 games (including 0-12 against dodgers and 2-11 against white sox)
Ozuna at 0.310 hitting 13-34 (0.382) in his last 10 games
Ohtani at 0.305 hitting 22-43 (0.511) in his last 10 games
Keeping pace will see Ohtani fall just short, but if Ohtani goes 3-5 or 3-4 in the last games hes in with a very very real shot.
Where is that padres fan who got told by his fellow ‘bros’ to delete his “ohtani hasn’t done much against us” post (which he did) before the series started?
