I feel like red in general is overused and has run its course. Let’s just skip all the middle steps and become the Yellow Sox

Amazing to see how opinions of these things can evolve. I really do think that with rare exception, fans just naturally dislike ‘new’ in general when it comes to such well established elements of the game like the iconic uniforms of one of the most iconic teams & that is totally understandable (I’ve certainly been guilty of it myself before). But IMO it is worth keeping in mind how willing we actually are to adapt. It simply takes time & sometimes particular circumstances.
I applaud them for trying something new – the yellow jerseys are pretty solid on their own. I just can never get over them wearing alternates, they feel like they should be a white-and-grey club.

Look I get that some teams had way too many alternates, but this 4+1 Nike rule is getting ridiculous when teams are getting rid of their classic jerseys that they’ve worn for years in favor of the ones that sell the most. Like it should be one white, one grey, two alternates, the city connect jersey & a classic jersey.
Hopefully this precedent means Padres City Connect will stick around. Boston doing this gives me hope.
