Hopefully we don’t let them be the only NL Central club with a new skipper next year…

They’d have to run the table to match their win total of last season. Building upon their ’23 success seemed like a sure thing. Oh well.

OH MY GOD I was not expecting them to actually do it but a much needed change

Reds fans, you’re free from this hell.
Butternades
Not surprised at all.
Good guy, and the players like him but he just isn’t right to steer the ship

Holy hell I never expected us to do the right thing. Blessed to be a Reds fan for once
i-exist20
This seems unnecessary, but considering how badly the Reds have underperformed their run differential (and their expectations) it’s understandable? Still feel like injuries are mostly to blame.

The deed is done.

They did it, they actually did it. This season was not all his fault it was definitely time for a change.

Bell wasn’t the greatest manager, but he loved his players and always stood up for them.
I trust in Krall, not Castellini’s, though.

With a week left?

Hire Barry Larkin so I don’t have to listen to him on the broadcasts anymore
FUCK_ME_DAVID_BELL
what am i supposed to do now
Jeff_Banks_Monkey
We’ll always have him charging the Pirates bench with Amir Garrett
Wallawalla1522
No ill will, all the players seem to like him, but it was due. Surprised he made it so long for what felt like an interum spot.

As long as the Castellinis own the team that’s all that matters. David Bell was far from the main problem, as managers generally are.
SquadPoopy
Yes because that will fix everything.
I don’t even like Bell but I mean…did the front office really look at this season and decide “yep he’s the problem”
joeveralls
Firing him with 5 games left lmao
No_Departure102
Crazy idea, but just an experiment: replace him with Joey Votto
trumpet575
I’ll always love you for running back onto the field after you’d already been ejected to fight Clint Hurdle. But it was time to move on.
texas2089
What is even the point with a week left in the season? Just let him finish it out.
BigRedJon
This is the front office scapegoating the manager to cover for their failure to put enough depth on the 40-man roster to sustain the injuries we’ve had this year. Pretty annoying.
But it’ll make the Einsteins over on /r/Reds happy for a moment. Until a bullpen arm blows a lead for whoever the next manager is next year and they start screaming to fire him as well.

The Bell family has been a part of Cincinnati baseball for 70 years dating back to Gus Bell. David will probably be the last.
