MLB: “Listen Alex, can I call you Alex ? We need you to not make it so in your statement obvious next time.”

    Cora: “alright.”

    MLB: “good enough for me.”

    *pretends to be shocked*

Manfred would sooner let the A’s stay in Oakland than he would punish someone who openly admitted to intentionally drilling someone (oh, and is a cheater).

« Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as comments in a postgame press conference » – Alex Cora

I’m not really surprised. I think it’s too easy to spin his comments as something like « we had our chance to for retaliation, (but we didn’t even try because *obviously* we would never do that,) so now it’s over. »

edit: Just to be clear, I don’t believe this is true, just that it’s not hard for Cora to say something like that.

Boy, I wonder why Cora keeps flouting the rules? Could it be that you’ve now allowed him to go (at least) 3-for-3 in slaps on the wrist?

I’m pretty ready for the day Cora is no longer the Red Sox manager. He shouldn’t have been let back into the league in the first place

  9. Yet Cash got a game because his pitcher went rogue.

  10. Joe Kelly, however, received a 10 game suspension
