Rough year for the Mets losing 4 legends. Howie Rose said something about how hard it is seeing childhood heroes slowly pass on. Obviously I wasn’t around but my grandmother watched players from that era. She always told stories about that particular era from the Mets.

Kranepool for most of his career was nothing special as a hitter, but there’s this: a four-year run (1974-77) during which he had 42 pinch hits in 94 at bats. Amazing for sure.

Kranepool, a native New Yorker, spent his entire 18-year career with the Mets. He is the franchise’s all-time leader in games played.
He was an All-Star in 1965 and a 1969 World Series Champion.
I know most don’t care but I just wanna say Rest in Peace Mets Legend.
