I believe Kyoto International HS also have a lot of South Koreans in their roster which is pretty cool to see, they’ve been attracting a lot of attention in South Korean news media lately and South Korean reporters even went to Japan to visit their school to conduct interviews and see their training regimen.

Managed to catch-up the bottom of the 10th inning to see this moment. Congratulations to Kyoto Kokusai on winning their first Koshien title!

Reading about this team on Korean websites, it says 61/66 boys in the school are involved in baseball and it’s nicknamed the ‘baseball high’

For teams in the Koshien that win/go far, is it normal that they are basically baseball schools? Are there many schools that are regular high schools that happen to have a good baseball program?

For example: the high school I went to in Canada was one of the best track and field schools in the province but was absolutely not a “sports school.” There were a few high schools that were specifically geared towards athletes that would usually win the provincial tournaments.
