La meilleure équipe de la MLB est en passe de remporter 95 victoires. La dernière année sans équipe à remporter 100 victoires remonte à 2014.
De même, la dernière fois que l’écart entre les points les plus élevés au baseball était inférieur à +231, c’était en… 2014. Il est à peine deux fois moins élevé à l’heure actuelle.
Tout cela pour dire : un an après qu’une équipe wild card de 90 victoires a affronté une équipe wild card de 86 victoires lors des World Series, le championnat 2024 semble plus en jeu qu’il ne l’a été depuis longtemps.

The fact that the Astros are on this list after starting the season 12-24 with basically their entire 2021 World Series rotation on the shelf, and no Kyle Tucker for 2+ months is incredible.

2016-2023 had a superteam every season. This season is much more in line with the early 2010s that had no clear top dog

As a Tigers fan it absolutely blows my mind to see 3 fucking teams in our division on this list. Those teams suck lmao how the fuck?!
I think part of it is the schedule change. Divisions like the NL West were always brutal because you had to play the Dodgers 19 times (as well as the Giants & Padres who have been good recently).
I don’t think it’s a coincidence the minute that balance out the schedules a bit the Dbacks make the playoffs in 2023, and 3 NL West teams are slotted to make the playoffs this year. There’s a lot of talent that has been just pummeled down by the dodgers in that division over the years.
I didn’t appreciate how 2014 ended.
