It’s going to be interesting how teams push and campaign for their guys, because both the Yankees and Red Sox would prefer the guy so far having the lesser season win because it’s more rewarding. Wells feels like the dark horse candidate I haven’t heard many mention. Solid defense, and an above average bat from the catcher position is all you can ask for.

I think it’s a cool concept to incentivize playing your young talent. But would this potentially create a sort of positive feedback loop? I guess it’s good for smaller market teams that lose their talent once they hit FA, but still…
