Wow I’ve never seen that before

That’s some Joey Gallo shit wtf

This makes no sense…why not have the third baseman guarding the line against a squib double? Much better than two shortstops at the second base bag.

  4. Suarez and Perdomo remind me of that NCIS scene of two people typing on the same keyboard.

  5. Suarez and Perdomo are way too close for any logic. There’s no point in having fielders so close their range overlaps by much.

I know this isn’t a hot take but why don’t we see more (any?) bunts in this situation?

Inning two, let’s keep the defense strong.

The SS and 3rd baseman being close enough to hold hands is real dumb. I’d assume Perdomo is taking about 90% of the balls hit to that side so Suarez’s main role is….not being in the way?

Cubs did something similar to Bryan Reynolds last year, with the 3rd baseman playing closer to actual short. He covered 2nd on a double, and no one covered 3rd, so it became a triple. A dribbler off the end of the bat could be a triple like that. A halfway decent bunt is a double.

« We cover all bases »

    Except 3rd

When the pitcher releases the ball 2B drops into shallow right field and the SS goes to cover the first base side of second

THIS is why you learn to fucking bunt!

Sometimes you look at a shift and you can’t help but think of “hack-a-Shaq” but with baseball.
