Big media bias towards Cleveland tbh

One of them plays for the soon-to-be 110 loss Sacramento Athletics, one of them plays for the AL-leading Cleveland Guardians.

The all star game, unfortunately, is not about the best players, or even the best players this year. It is mostly about who was hot in April and May. Rooker had a slow start to the year while Fry was a baby step below Judge. As it stands today, David Fry may not be on the roster by the end of July.

When the reserves were announced, Rooker had an .891 OPS and Fry’s was .920, and if player voting ended when fan voting ended then the difference was .845 vs .941.

I do think Rooker was more deserving but it’s hard to blame the players. I wish the league listed games played or plate appearances with the stats on the ballot along with BA and OPS.

Fry got hot early, Rooker got hot late.
