With the emergence of Ramos and Lee on the shelf, I had wonder who was going to be out. SF has Matos, Yaz, Slater, Conforto to fill two spots. Someone had to go.
Bye, Austin.

I honestly kept forgetting Slater was still on the team. Godspeed Slater Tater
We had Young in 2022 and he was a solid bullpen piece. Hopefully he can replicate that

Was the longest tenured Giant. Know he was bad this year but he was my guy forever. Hope he kills it and SlaterMania runs wild in Cincy.

Very needed trade from the Reds’ pov. Young was our fourth best lefty reliever and didn’t have a spot, and our outfield depth is downright pitiful, especially with Friedl and now Martini on the IL. Having a healthy replacement level or so corner OF to plug into the bottom third of our lineup actually means a lot.

With Martini out and Fairchild day to day I’m glad they did literally anything.

I hope this means we see more Matos.

Slater did not exactly light the world on fire this year but he was a damn good Giant.
Career wise, he is a lefty masher with a .276/.376/437 slash line and is a fantastic pinch hitter.
Sad because he was one guy who loved living in San Francisco and would always defend it. I think he was literally the only guy that actually lived in downtown SF

Real fun, smart player. This year he sucked, and the past couple years his arm became a wet noodle, but he was an amazing RHH against LHP for the longest time. Before the wet noodle years he actually had a decent cannon for an arm from the outfield.
