Fuck the HR derby
I remember seeing Ohtani in the home run derby and watching him hit line drive after line drive, but he could not consistently homer like Guerrero or Alonso. He is an undeniable home run threat in a 9 inning game, but the derby seems to be out of his wheelhouse and that is not a bad thing.
They shouldn’t have to even say this. The man would be an IDIOT to risk health in the derby. Makes no sense. Fans understand.
HRD messes up your swing. Its a fun event. But star players are smart to not do it.
