(Rogers) Garrett Crochet a éludé les questions sur ses éventuels désirs de contrat s’il était échangé. Il doit lancer dimanche : « C’est comme ça. Je me concentre juste sur le fait de lancer pour les White Sox. »

Hmm. That answer does not make feel confident if I am interested in trading for him.

Well hopefully he’s focused on pitching for the White Sox the rest of the season

“It is what it is” sounds like, this is what my agent told me to do. Can’t blame him, but I’m not sure it instills confidence in a buyer.

Gonna go against the grain, but he’s absolutely right to look out for himself.

Look at Buehler. Dude was lined up for likely 180-200 mill contract just a few years ago. He never got his payday and is threatening to fall out of the league the way things are going

This probably completely tanked all of his trade value but he’s right to look after himself.

I get why he’s doing it (like Hader did), but still, what a pssy ass bitch.

sounds like soto when he refused to answer questions after it was revealed he and boras rejected a 440M extension.

honestly I don’t blame crochet for wanting an extension esp when (1) he’s already had TJ (2) he’s only making 800K in arbitration and (3) he’s already had a career high in innings. teams often treat players as disposable assets. they’ll use and abuse them until they break and then they discard them like kleenex. good for crochet for looking after himself. he wants financial security if he’s gonna risk his arm for a team who will likely ask him to do things he’s never done before.

also … teams should be more inclined to do the deal if he has an extension bc if ur giving up multiple prospects with 6 years of team control u may as well do it for a guy who will stay with u long term. not a guy who will leave and test free agency in 2.5 years.

Lmao I think Crochet just likes where he is for whatever reason, and is trying to tank his value? That’s my theory

I mean, you expect any single person to openly tell reporters what they want in their contract?

This is a huge gamble, hopefully it pays off for him.

Assuming this is the plan for him next season and the White Sox don’t find a trade partner this winter, would it benefit them to put him on some sort of innings plan for the regular season in 2025?
